57 | ![]() | Census - Canada - Driver Family in Howick - pg. 2 Three pages of census records provide a significant amount of information regarding the family as all but Sarah Jane resided in the townships of Howick, Ontario. The records also include Thomas, reportedly the brother of Joseph M Driver, appears but the remainder of suspected siblings does not. The arrival date for the Driver family can also be narrowed. Joseph Henry, the youngest son was born in Ireland in 1849. The eldest grandchild (William's daughter, Mary) was born, it appears in 1856. That provides an estimated arrival between 1849-1856. 58 | ![]() | Census - Manitoba - 1921 - Eunice Driver Residence at 587 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Eunice Driver - 33 Lenore Galloway - 1 I am unable to reconcile Lenore's last name as Galloway. Her marriage certificate in her first marriage states that her father is Herbert "Nick" Driver. Herbert's military records demonstrate that he returned to Canada in March, 1919 from the war. In October, 1919, his second partner (and potentially wife but there is a dispute in the family as to whether they legitimately were married) arrived in Canada from England. Given her birth-date, and the marriage certificate, I hypothesize that Herbert re-connected with his first partner (Eunice) and conceived Lenore. It appears on Gladys' arrival that Eunice and her youngest traveled east to Oshawa and her three eldest went west to British Columbia with their father (and step-mother). |
